    As co-founder, Travis guides the company at the shifting intersection of creativity and technology. His long history of experimentation and innovation includes optic manipulation, robotic video, and solar typography projections.

  • Chris Lejeune

    Chief Executive Officer

    Chris co-founded Obscura with Travis Threlkel. He’s an original force behind the firm’s respected production and design capabilities. He has the ability to bring the most abstract and cutting- edge concepts to life with seamless detail.

  • Matty Dowlen

    Chief of Production

    Matty has been producing events with Obscura since 2002. He has led the production team in the creation of immersive environments, from events to permanent installations, that captivate audiences of all sizes.

  • David Shulman

    Chief Financial Officer

    David has broad experience in startup, small and high-growth companies in the tech sector. As Obscura’s Chief Financial Officer, he oversees strategic business and financial planning, due diligence, staff management, and more.

  • Marc Melzer

    Director of Media Arts

    Marc has been involved with Obscura since its founding. He has over 12 years of hands-on experience in animation, design, and large-scale workflow management. He has contributed his talents to over 100 projects with Obscura.

  • Kimber Sterling

    VP of Client Services

    Kimber joined Obscura after serving as VP Business Development for Reactrix Systems, Inc., a pioneer in digital signage. He has many years of experience as a media planning executive at some of the Bay Area’s top agencies.

  • Alex Oropeza

    Senior Executive Producer

    As a core member of Obscura, Alex’s contributions range from audio engineering, scoring, and sound design, to producing art media and technical presentations. He has a long history of achievements in new media arts.

    Director of Software

    Obscura’s interactive lead, Barry develops new aesthetics in spatial media. His passion is immersive, interactive art, and he collaborates with artists and organizations innovating sound, video, network, and audience experiences.

    Sean applies his extensive working knowledge of numerous hardware and software solutions to provide the best system performance. He manages and supports these two environments for successful show-ready deliveries.
