Senior Helpdesk Administrator

TITLE: Senior Helpdesk Administrator

LOCATION: San Francisco Office

Obscura is looking for an experienced Helpdesk administrator. As a Senior Helpdesk Administrator you will create and maintain our internal technology infrastructure. You will be responsible for the configuration, installation and maintenance of our desktops, servers, storage arrays and general network connectivity. You will work closely with the Director of Systems to research and deploy next-generation hardware and software, ensuring maximum uptime with minimal production pipeline friction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

We’re seeking candidates who will:

  • Configure and maintain high-availability production systems (servers and workstations; large, high-speed SAN arrays)
  • Conduct render farm expansion and maintenance
  • Administrate mail and collaboration services
  • Administrate Active Directory domain, DNS, VLANs, WANs
  • Administrate backup and archival systems
  • Be first point of contact for all internal helpdesk requests

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Technical Skills:

  • Windows 7 & 10, MacOS

Technical Production Artist

TITLE: Technical Production Artist

LOCATION:   San Francisco Office

Obscura is looking for an experienced Technical Production Artist to help bring the creative vision of Obscura to life on a diverse mix of projects ranging from interactive large-scale projections to complex multi-display installations. The role of Technical Production Artist is pretty unique, as you’ll read below under responsibilities.

A general overview; the Technical Production Artist will support the media department by creating templates, workflow systems, and manage AE and C4D renders through Deadline on our in house render farm. The Technical Artist also works with the systems, software and hardware departments to make sure the media departments’ computers are running smoothly and have the latest programs and plug-ins installed.

  • Basic understanding of codecs and digital deliverable formats.
  • Familiarity with different rendering platforms like Octane, Vray, Physical, Etc.

  • Manage and update render farm nodes with techniques to improve rendering and quality

Interactive Engineer

TITLE: Interactive Engineer

LOCATION:   San Francisco Office

An Interactive Engineer at Obscura works as the hub of a diverse team to integrate contributions into a final production ready system. Interfacing with a broad range of hardware and software systems, the Interactive Engineer is responsible for the final showtime operation of events, and software for installations. The IE leads the development of show and calibration systems, and completes setup and troubleshooting. Working on a project from conception through execution, this position benefits from a broad range of skills such as IT, realtime graphics, and scripting.

Obscura is looking for an experienced web developer to join our team.  A Web Developer at Obscura is responsible for the programming of both client-facing front end interfaces and backend/CMS/communication infrastructure for a variety of long term and short term projects.  As a Web Developer at Obscura, you will help to concept, design, and execute browser-based experiences, including content management systems and control interfaces for tablet, mobile and desktop. Web Developers also assist the Director of Software in establishing future proof web based software architectures. They also may be asked to maintain/update some legacy projects.
