The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) offers grants, professional opportunities, education, and related programs to artists and arts-related organizations within the District of Columbia. Their mission is to provide the resources and opportunities that encourage diverse artistic expression, enriching the culture of the city.

In 2012, Obscura received an artist grant from DCCAH to design an immersive installation showcasing art installations made possible by the DC Public Art Program. Obscura created a multi-channel curved display, accompanied by an interactive multi-touch screen that allowed guests to move through the projections.

Through this experience, visitors could acquire information on individual art installations, as well as background information on the artists. The installation opened at the (e)merge Art Fair and was then installed in the DCCAH’s office as a semi-permanent display.
