With Super Bowl 50 in their backyard, Visa’s goal was to develop a campaign to support its NFL/Super Bowl sponsorship, but to also break away from traditional marketing and offer a special gift for city they call home. Visa partnered with Obscura to create key content for a large-scale art installation at their One Market headquarters in the densely populated Super Bowl City.
Obscura created over 20 components of various lengths of mostly generative art pieces that danced between the two buildings during the four hour show each night. The large-scale architectural projection became an iconic piece of the skyline for nine nights including Super Bowl Sunday with a freshly mixed playlist each night customized to complement and reflect other Bay Area events such as the return of the Bay Bridge lights.
Visa’s Skyline Projections kicked off January 30th and illuminated San Francisco’s Embarcadero with vibrant images and animations that represented the Bay Area city landmarks, football iconography, and Visa’s innovation and momentum in the electronic payments market.
